Skills for Claude and ChatGPT

Claude and ChatGPT skills for invoices, payments, and bookkeeping

Skills are free add-ons that teach Claude or ChatGPT one specific task. These four write invoices, build SEPA payment files, check supplier invoices against delivery notes, and keep your books. Each one asks for what's missing. None of them sends an invoice or transfers money.

How it works

From one sentence to a file you can use

A skill is a folder of instructions and scripts. The assistant follows the instructions. Where a file or a sum has to be exact, a script does the work, so numbers are calculated, not guessed.

  1. Step 1

    Add the skill

Download the ZIP. In Claude, upload it under Settings > Capabilities > Skills. In ChatGPT, drop it into the chat.

  2. Step 2

    Describe what you need

Say who you're billing or which transfers you need, or attach the invoices, delivery notes, or bank statements. If something is missing, such as a VAT ID or an IBAN, the skill asks for it.

  3. Step 3

    Check the result

You see the invoice, every transfer, every difference, or every booking before you use it. The SEPA file and the bookings are written only after you confirm.

Free and open source

Billpal collects and sorts the invoices you receive. The skills help with the work before and after that: writing your own invoices, checking supplier invoices against what was delivered, building the SEPA file for the transfers you approve in your bank, and keeping the books. They cost nothing and work without an account.

  • Invoices in 12 Billpal templates or your own file, also as a ZUGFeRD e-invoice
  • SEPA files for batch transfers to several suppliers
  • Supplier invoices checked against delivery notes, timesheets, and orders
  • Books from your bank statements and documents, with VAT, ready for your accountant
  • No account, no credit card, open source under the MIT license

Your Billpal data, already filled in

Connect Billpal to Claude or ChatGPT and the skills read from your account. You confirm every value before it goes into a file.

  • Customer addresses from your contacts
  • Your recent invoice numbers, so you pick the next one
  • Unpaid incoming invoices and supplier IBANs for SEPA files
  • Supplier invoices and the delivery note numbers on them
  • Invoices and receipts with their VAT, for your books

Frequently asked questions

What is a skill?

A folder with instructions and, for the parts that have to be exact, scripts. Claude and ChatGPT read the instructions and follow them step by step. The Billpal skills are free and MIT-licensed, and the source is on GitHub.

Do I need a Billpal account?

No. Each skill works on its own. With a connected account, the skills fill in contacts, invoice numbers, and supplier IBANs, find supplier invoices to check, and read invoices and receipts for your books, from your Billpal data.

What does Claude or ChatGPT need to run a skill?

Code execution. In Claude, turn it on in the settings and upload the ZIP as a skill. In ChatGPT, drop the ZIP into the chat. A link alone isn't enough, because ChatGPT can't download the files.

Does a skill send invoices or money?

No. The invoice skill doesn't send the invoice, and the SEPA skill doesn't move money. You upload the SEPA file to your bank and approve the transfers there. The delivery note match only reports. It doesn't hold or reject an invoice. The bookkeeping skill doesn't file VAT or tax returns.

Which countries do the skills cover?

The invoice skill and its e-invoice step cover sellers in every EU country. They follow the EU VAT Directive and national rules, such as § 11 UStG in Austria or § 14 UStG in Germany. Outside the EU, you get the invoice with what you say your country requires. The SEPA skill builds euro transfers for business banks that import SEPA XML. The delivery note match works in any country. The bookkeeping skill has charts of accounts and rules for Austria, Germany, and the US, and works elsewhere with your own chart.
