Billpal e.U. ("us", "we", or "our") operates https://billpal.io (the "Service"). For full company details, see our Imprint.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you may not access the Service.

1. The Service

Billpal is an AI-powered bookkeeping assistant for small businesses. You can connect bank and email accounts to import transactions and documents, which Billpal classifies, categorizes, and matches using Artificial Intelligence. You can also upload documents manually or via a WhatsApp chatbot.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service.
You can delete your account at any time directly in Settings or by contacting us at support@billpal.io

3. Subscriptions & Billing

Billpal offers a free trial with a limited number of document credits.
After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription. Pricing details are available on our website.
Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time – access continues until the end of your billing period. No refunds are issued for the remaining period.
Usage beyond the included monthly documents is billed as overage at the end of each billing cycle.
You can purchase discounted credit packs (one-time payments) to offset overage charges. Credit packs are non-refundable and do not expire.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.

4. Your Data

You retain full ownership of your data (documents, transactions, business information).
You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the Service.
You can export your data at any time using the built-in export feature.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these Terms.

5. AI features

Billpal uses AI to classify and categorize documents, match documents to transactions, and respond to WhatsApp queries. All AI-generated results, messages, and responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. They do not constitute professional accounting, tax, or legal advice in any form.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated results before relying on them for any financial, tax, or legal purposes.
Billpal is not an accounting firm, tax advisor, or financial institution.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

Use the Service only in compliance with applicable laws.
Not upload malicious files or attempt to exploit the system.
Not share your account credentials with others.
Not use automated tools to access the Service beyond its intended use.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers for banking connections, email integration, payment processing, document classification and extraction, and AI. These services are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services. Bank connections are read-only and can be revoked at any time. EU and UK connections are regulated under PSD2 (Payment Services Directive).

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI outputs, document extraction, or transaction matching.
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for intent or gross negligence.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vienna, Austria.
If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the EU Consumer Redress platform.

10. Changes & Contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
